If you knew her: Book Review

In the book, “If you knew her” by Emily Elgar.  This book follows three distinct stories: Alice, Frank and Cassie.  Alice is a nurse on floor 9B that is caring for two coma patients, Frank and Cassie.  Frank has been in a coma and has recently become lucid. The only problem is that no one knows…

Cassie is brought onto floor 9B after being hit by a car.  She is in the patient bed across from Frank. The book tells the story of Cassie’s life.  While caring for Cassie, Alice begins to wonder about Cassie’s life and secrets.  Frank meanwhile hears everything that happens on the nursing ward, even things that he should not.

The book is a kind of who-done-it that asks the question: Who hit Cassie and why? This book is very well written, and it is difficult to put down. I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good mystery.  I thought I knew who the guilty party was several times and I was wrong.  There is a minor scene in the book that could be considered a sex scene, but it is very short, and no details are given.  This is just a great can’t-put-it-down kind of book.
